          Trisodium phosphate is also called sodium phosphate tribasic, sodium phosphate in business.

         Its molecular formula is Na3PO4．12H2O.

Properties: achromatic, acicular hexagonal system crystal. Trisodium phosphate can dissolve in water, hardly in organic solvent. Its relative density is 1.62(20℃),melting point is 73.3-76.7℃ (decomposition) ,efflorescence occurs when bared in dry air. Trisodium phosphate will lose twelve crystalwaters and become anhydrous substance (Na3PO4) in the presence of 100℃. Its water solution is alkaline, corrosive to human skin.

Trisodium phosphate is used as softener, boiler tubes clean agent and detergent in metallurgy, chemical, textile, printing and dyeing, paper, electrical and mechanical and other industries. Trisodium phosphate is also found in metal antirusting agent, dryer in dyestuff intermediate, syrup in Sugar Processing, photographic developer, textile mercerization enhancer and rubber latex coagulant.

Industrial grade trisodium phosphate is mainly used as water softener, boiler tubes clean agent and detergent, nonmetal antirusting agent and textile mercerization enhancer,etc. Food grade trisodium phosphate is used as quality improver, emulsifier, accessory substance and pasta alkaline agent.

Silicate and silicate scale can be eliminated by trisodium phosphate, because trisodium phosphate can react with those liable to develop scale, soluble calcium and magnesium for example, and generate insoluble settlements suspending in the water, calcium phosphate Ca3 (PO4)2 and magnesium phosphate Mg3 (PO4) 2 for example.

Trisodium phosphate can decompose and penetrate the smudge on the surface of buffering. The emulsification can also peel off the dirt attached to the surface of panel, facilitating the polishing solution contact with the new one and improving the efficiency of polishing.

Trisodium phosphate can cause many kinds of diseases after long-time stimulation such as

tumor lesion, gumbleeding, angular stomatitis, neuritis. It also has influences on the next generation's malformation and generic mutation, and even does harm to liver.
